Children ENT
Many young children suffer from an enlarged adenoids, colloquially known as “polyps”, which can cause significant discomfort. The most common symptoms include heavy snoring, increased susceptibility to infections and obstructed nasal breathing.
The enlargement of the adenoids can also affect the ventilation of the middle ear, which often leads to fluid accumulation behind the eardrum (otitis media), repeated middle ear infections and, as a result, hearing loss.
In such cases, conventional medicine often regards the surgical removal of the enlarged adenoids as a necessary measure to alleviate the symptoms and minimize the risk of permanent hearing damage.
